We had a fantastic time with Lydia and Jade and thankfully the weather was good too. We met up at around 10 in the morning and introduced ourselves to each other. This was really easy and both Lydia and Jade are really warm and friendly people who are easy to get along with. I knew instantly that this was going to be a fun morning and I was not wrong.
Now despite my occupation, I do not really like having my photo taken and as such, it comes as no surprise to me when I meet couples for the first time and they feel a little nervous. Both Jade and Lydia told me that they were a little apprehensive about the morning and I reassured them that I understood this fully.
We set off walking and chatting and it was great to hear about their plans for their wedding in September. I have photographed weddings now for a while and what is great about this job is that no two weddings are the same (which is why at redberry photography we give bespoke prices for bespoke packages). Lydia and Jade’s wedding sounds fantastic, with its close attention to detail, but relaxed atmosphere – I am certain everyone will enjoy their special day.
Neither Lydia or Jade needed to be concerned about being in front of the camera as they very quickly relaxed into it and it was clear how very much in love with each other they truly are. We had a quick chat about my photography style and then I gave them my quick input on posing tips. While everyone says they want candid photos and this is certainly something we do, it is also important that we aim to get those photos which look great in an album or hung in a prominent position in your home and this is why we have an input with our couples for posing.
Mote Park has some great locations, with the lake, wooded areas and the buildings – it is a real treasure in the heart of Maidstone and as such makes a great setting for engagement photography for those couples in Kent.
Jade and Lydia had both read through our tips on what to wear for and engagement photo shoot and this really paid dividends for us.
I must admit, that I was quite excited by the morning so when I got home, I couldn’t wait to download the photos and start working on them. By around 8pm I had completed working on the photos and uploaded them to our secure online gallery so that Jade and Lydia could access them. The feedback we got from Jade and Lydia was amazing and we are really grateful for their lovely comments:
“We love the photos, you’ve done an amazing job and we would love to have you as our photographer for our wedding! We are overwhelmed with the photos.”
We can’t wait now to be there at their wedding in September, I am sure it will be as much fun as our photo session was in Mote Park, Maidstone.
Don’t forget that we offer a free “try before you buy engagement photo session” for engagement sessions – so that you can be confident that redberry photography are the right wedding photographers in Kent for you.
