Sunny Engagement Photos with Vicki and Daniel in Mote Park – Maidstone
We were so excited to get their enquiry for us to capture their Wedding Day and Handfasting Ceremony.
When we got the enquiry from Vicki and Daniel, we had a sense that we were going to have great fun with them and we weren’t wrong!
They explained to use that their wedding was planned as a very small and intimate event and that they had fallen in love with the idea of a Handfasting ceremony at The Lost Village of Dode just outside of Gravesend in North Kent.
Now, we have being involved in weddings since 2014 – but have never been involved in a handfasting service so we will admit that we were straight onto Google and we instantly fell in love with the intimacy, meaning and quirkiness of it – we knew that Vicki and Daniel were a couple we really wanted to to have the opportunity to document their special day.
As such, we reached out to them and following some email and telephone conversations, we sorted out an engagement session as this is a great opportunity for our couples to see how we work and to also see themselves in our photos.
Now we are not ones to drop people in it! But – we had a date in our diary and were already to go, when we got an email from Vicki explaining that despite her letting him know the date booked, Daniel had thought he had been super nice and arranged something on that day for her birthday! Now as the person typing this is a married man with a family – I kind of had huge sympathy with Daniel as it is the sort of thing I would do as a well meaning partner – only to get it wrong (sorry Daniel!). So we agreed to rearrange the date to a weekend in September.
The day arrived and the weather forecast was one of overcast skies and out the window of Redberry’s office, it did look rather grey. However, we don’t ;let this kind of stuff put us off and we are always prepared no matter the weather. We had arranged a time which was around 2 hours before sunset so that we could use that beautiful natural light.
